The Yorks are from the UK and the Lancastrians are from Europe What events occurred before and after? One event that occurred before the war of roses was the 100 years war. The war of roses was fought by England and Normandy, 1337-1453. This battle was fought along the English Channel.
Not too long after the end of the war Christopher Columbus discovered the West Indies, 1492. What impact did it have on our society today? Today we all have equal power and we are a free country. What impact did it have in the middle ages? When you go to war you must pay for the items needed for battle. So they must tax higher to earn the money for the items needed.
